The Web

O what a tangled web we weave

Though faultless at the start

The loops and whorls of pure delight

An almost perfect heart

But as we spin, and run, and falter

That great design we subtly alter

Till round and round we tear and chase

Increasing, with less certain pace

Collecting faults in lifetime’s lace

Our paper doily race
