Sleeping Beauty

Through fabric frayed

A shimmering shaft

Lasered hearts awake

Illuminating memories

Deeply slumb’ring till daybreak

Encased in rock immobile

Unperceived, perhaps unreal?

Unfathomed till that moment

But now burned awake to feel

As if the Sleeping Beauty

Had been lost in distant lands

For times inconsequential

She had walked the endless sands

Her mind beset by fragments

Sometimes happy, sometimes sad

Caught up in Life’s agenda

Fielding outcomes, good and bad

But with leaden case now shattered

Light’s full glare exposed the heart

Warm and breathing, whole and hopeful

Fit again to play Love’s part
